ROBERTA BUSATO | SCULPTURE  

Working with Kalpa since 2020, Roberta Busato (Verona, 1976) discovers new materials and horizons. The artist’s process of defining, dialoguing and shaping Volterra Alabaster stands at the core of her current creative research and carries the marks of a primordial and universal gesture. Her upcoming solo exhibition ENLIGHTENED STONE presents a series of new and enigmatic faces in alabaster and unfolds the passage of a ritual performed by the artist in the presence of the material found in the territory: observation, excavation, the discovery of the soul.

Born in Verona, Roberta Busato works and lives between Mantova and Pietrasanta. After graduating in Painting with Omar Galliani from the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara and collaborating with the Theatre Company Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio (Cesena), she developed a multidisciplinary approach to her work, integrating drawing with painting, sculpture with theatre. 

Her universal language addresses topics such as the representation of the inner self and uncertainty of human existence and emphasises references to ancient forms, rituals and languages through an exciting dialogue between finito and non-finito. Roberta creates by hand, modelling a compound of natural elements, carved and dried raw earth, alabaster and various stones.
