Sometimes things just fall together perfectly. That is how I would describe this week’s worship service. From the opening image that Scott chose to set the tone all the way to the final postlude, God’s Spirit spoke a message into being and it is one that speaks to this moment in time. Erin McKibben and Tim Accurso deliver a beautiful prelude, an Irish folk tune for flute. Michelle Hertig is the liturgist of the day, reading 1 Corinthians 8: 1-13. The Rev. Suzanne Malloy preaches the sermon “Unmasking Your Idols.”
Our hymns are “Be Thou My Wisdom” (450 in Glory to God), “Servant Song” (727), and “Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise” (12). Tim Accurso closes our time with the postlude “Come, Christians, Join to Sing.”
