Rev. William T. Glynn delivered the morning message tagged “Between Once Upon A Time And Happily Ever After” from 2 Kings 4:8-36. He preached a powerful sermon which including the prophet Elisha belng blessed by a barren woman from Shunem and in turn God blessing her with a son, who at an early age died. Through the woman's faith in God, Elisha through God's power raised him from the dead. The woman reponse to such a miracle was to BOW Down and to thank God! Rev. Glynn reminded us that “Between Once Upon A Time and Happily Ever After, ANYTHING can happen.” You have to learn to keep on trusting God.
Through concluding remarks, Pastor Shears reminded us, “God will see you through. God will make a way. I’m a soldier in the army of the Lord!” Pastor Shears thanked the church for their prayers during his recent illness and hospitalization when doctors stopped his heart and restarted it. He thanked the doctors, but first and most importantly he thanked God. He shared how blessed he is and reminded us that “God can make and God can take care of His people.” He invited the church members to call him anytime at (205) 447-7365.
Bro Richard Taylor thanked the Lord and the church for their prayers during his illness and hospitalization. Bro. Charles Happy led us in prayer for Bro. Taylor. Sis Jennie Cotton also testified that she’s cancer free and thanked the Lord!
Chairpersons, Sis. Deloris Spencer and Bro. George Ray, thanked all for supporting and participating in our month of December “233rd Church Anniversary” Programs.
There was a delicious reception immediately followed our morning service.
Congratulations to our Pastor Calvin P. Shears on his soon to be released new book, “Living With A Heart On The Wrong Side (ages 8-54)”! To God Be The Glory!
