Happy new year to you all. The covid crisis in the UK and Ireland has become serious with schools and non-essential shops closing and temporary curfews in place. I do hope you are keeping safe and well.
If you are reading any Greek or Latin texts, classics inspired novels, or non-fiction books, I'd love to hear your recommendations.
This is the January 2021 To Be Read pile. Alcestis has been around for a while but I definitely intend to read it this month ... just as soon as I finish the ancient Athenian murder mystery on my Kindle!
Shout out to JM Alvey's Shadows of Athenswhich follows Athenian comic playwright, Philocles, as he tries to identify the murderer of a stranger whose body was dumped at the door of his Athenian home, all during the Dionysia festival in which Philocles is competing for the first time. I haven't finished this yet but it's a great read! And there are two more novels in the series!
