News & Goodies from Callie Hutton

Hello Romance Lovers,

I hope all of you and your families are staying safe during this crisis. We are all fine here, but I’ve had two trips canceled in this past week--one for early April and one for late April/May. One was a pleasure trip and the other was a conference, my very first mystery writers conference. I hope it will be rescheduled for later in the year.

As inconvenient as all of this is, it is important to keep yourself and your loved ones safe. The Twinadoes are being home-schooled and their mama is doing the best she can, even though she’s expelled them twice. The last I heard she was trying to get them transferred from her class.

But in all seriousness, please stay well. If you are self-isolating, consider curling up with a good book. You can find a printable list of all my books here.

Just released Regency Romance

She knows precisely what she wants…
And it’s not the obstinate Highlander, Broden McGregor. Even if the handsome brute did recently inherit an earldom and a sizable fortune and now must wed to produce an heir. So why doesn’t Kendra object when the womanizing libertine boldly steals a kiss? And why does his promise of more sensual encounters thrill, rather than infuriate?

Fate turned his life upside down…
Not only did Broden inherit a title he never anticipated, someone wants him dead. At great peril to herself, Kendra saves his life, and the stunning lass he once regarded as his nemesis, becomes something more. But as his best friend’s adored sister, she’s off-limits. Spam and Pineapple Skewers

Cooking with pantry staples? Here's a fun recipe to try with classic canned goods.

For the pineapple glaze:

1 Cup pineapple preserves
2 Tablespoons white wine vinegar
1 Teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste

For the skewers:

1 pineapple, peeled and cored, cut into 1 ½-inch chunks
1 12-ounce can of Spam, cut into 1 1/2-inch chunks
1 red onion, cut into 1 ½ inch chunks
Olive oil, for brushing
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
Bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes

For the pineapple glaze:

To make the glaze, add all of the ingredients to a saucepan on medium until the mixture is warm; stirring occasionally.
For the skewers:

Preheat your grill to medium heat.

Add chunks of pineapple, Spam, and red onion to skewers, alternating until you get to the top of the skewer. Brush the finished skewers with olive oil, salt, and pepper.

Grill the skewers for 10 minutes, brushing with pineapple glaze, making sure to turn occasionally so all sides can get grill marks.

Stay safe and healthy!
