An Introduction to GANs

Do you know that generative AI was invented by Ian Goodfellow, who was a PhD student at Stanford in 2014 while having beer with his friends? Check out Chaehan So's talk which was presented at APTOS 2020 on our Youtube channel with a beer and see if you can come up with something too. Sadly, one of the things AI can't do now is drinking beer.

Be sure not to miss the early bird rates. After July 31, registration rates will go up substantially. We also welcome free papers, posters and videos on both technological innovations in ophthalmology and general ophthalmology. Go through the guidelines before making a submission.

August 31, 2023

Young Innovator Travel Grants Application Deadline

APTOS is pleased to see our young innovators thrive with us and the use of AI in ophthalmology. We are offering up to 3 grants, each of US$500, to those who are below 40 of age, preferably from a developing country, and with at least an abstract accepted for presentation to join us in Pattaya, Thailand.

The use of AI has stirred heated debates, arousing fears of misuse, abuse and replacement of manual work. This is the reason why we need governance and a consensus on what AI should and should not do.
