Library System Upgrade

Heads up! WCCLS will be implementing software updates to library systems starting Sun 2/4, and you won't be able to access your catalog account at wccls.org until the updates are completed.

Library staff won't be able to access your account during this time, either, so make sure to bring your library card with you if you're planning to visit the library on Monday or Tuesday – we won't be able to check any items out to you without it!

No library materials will be due between Sun 2/4 and Tue 2/6.

We're celebrating the legacy and enduring vitality of Black Americans in Washington County!

Join us to hear from a panel of local historians, authors, and business community leaders with expertise in the history of Black Oregonians, from the mid-nineteenth century when Oregon was first becoming a state through the turn of the twentieth century and right up to the present day.

Presented in collaboration with Washington County Chamber’s Black Advisory Business Council.

This February, we're celebrating Black History Month by highlighting our favorite titles by Black authors and filmmakers! Along with selections made by library staff, we want to include titles suggested by YOU, our community members.

Email us a list of your favorite books by Black authors and/or movies by Black directors, and we'll showcase them alongside our picks. Feel free to include a sentence or three about why you love your selections!

Updating Your Software

They're often a nuisance and tempting to completely ignore, but following through on your PC and smartphone software updates is crucial for your device's security and performance. Updates often add new, unfamiliar features, but are also the primary way that exploitable software vulnerabilities are fixed, keeping you and your private information safe and your device in proper working order!

Look under the "general" tab of your Apple device settings, the "software update" section of your Android device settings, or the "Updates and Security" section of your Windows device settings to install the latest operating system update for your device, or join us every Friday at our Drop-In Tech Help sessions to have one of our librarians walk you through it!

Lunar New Year Celebration

Celebrate the Lunar New Year!

From 11am-12pm, hear the story of the animals of the Chinese zodiac through an interactive presentation by Taiwan native Yu-Chen Cheng, followed by a craft inspired by the Year of the Dragon.

Stick around from 12-1pm for Yu-Chen to answer all your questions and share more about the holiday. Try on traditional clothing, take home a lucky red envelope, and welcome the new year!
