First, discover "A passion for colour," a grouping of Raoul Dufy's paintings, ceramics, and drawings gathered from the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris and private collections, on display at Hotel de Caumont in Aix. Hockney – Matisse. Un Paradis retrouvé is a unique exhibit with 70 of David Hockney’s works at the Musée Matisse as part of the Nice Art Biennale.
Escapism is the name of the game at Carrières de Lumières, with an immersive journey through the city of Venice. From the Grand Canal to the interior of Saint Mark's Basilica, all in a 40-minute light and sound show. Did we mention that it is cool enough inside that you might need an extra layer?
The annual artist's open house is a reason to visit Forcalquier between July 29th and August 1st.
Keith Van Sickle suggests booking a table at L'Oustalet Maianen, a restaurant in Maillane with a lovely terrace and great food. Speaking of food, if you would like a PDF copy of the delicious summer menu curated by Emma Kershaw, please send an email.
