👋
Hey Mori crew,
I have been lied to! I thought running a film lab was all about shooting film, #vibes and having fun playing with cameras but there’s actually also lots of boring administrative things you need to do- which is actually why this newsletter is a bit late… But that doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot going on!
I feel like I’m saying this every single month but last month has been absolutely crazy. So crazy in fact, that by the 31st of January we had almost sold out of cameras. 🙃
But we did end the year really well with an awesome staff Christmas dinner and a few days off for us to spend with our families. And now we’re back again with loads of new projects coming your way. We’re especially going to focus on the lab for these next couple of months with new improvements that will make developing faster and of higher quality.
The first good news of 2022: for the past couple of weeks we’ve been hard at work repairing and testing cameras so the website (and shelves) are starting to look a bit better. Many are already online but even more are being added in the coming days. Including some very special ones! (Btw, if you have some Christmas cash that you want to spend on new gear check lower in this email for a little exclusive surprise.)
The next couple of months will be full of events and new things. Here are two dates you should save:
- Sunday the 23rd of January - Photowalk! This one will start at 10:30 at the shop. You can RSVP right here!
- Friday 4th of February - Enfant Sauvage Exhibition where we will present some unpublished pictures by Melanie Patris, Quentin Yvelin and Pauline Caplet. Photos, beers and good vibes only. 🔥
We also started giving courses again, so if you’ve received a coupon for Christmas or are interested in learning some cool darkroom skills:
- Saturday 22nd of January - Black and white printing class. Join us for a fun 5 hours in the dark and become fully independent in the art of darkroom printing.
- Saturday 29th of January - Black and white film developing class. After a long break your favourite class is back! Learn how to develop your own black and white film with us is this 5h course.
And lastly, a little thing to get excited about. We got a call a few days back from our buddies at FilmNeverDie and apparently there’s a parcel with 200 rolls of a brand new film inside for us to distribute to our amazing customers. Hope you are as excited as we are. 😉
Take care,
Raph & Cole
