Monthly Newsletter

Dear Friends

Welcome to the first Pilgrimage of Hope newsletter!

You will receive this newsletter once a month, covering interesting facts and relevant Pilgrimage of Hope information as well as options on how to approach your intended pilgrimage.

This newsletter is also an invitation to become part of the greater Pilgrimage of Hope community. From the start, just over six years ago, this pilgrimage has grown organically, and thanks to the passion and dedication of fellow pilgrims, hosts, farmers and friends.

We look forward to keeping you updated on new developments including additional or alternative routes, feedback from pilgrims and other interesting news and blogs.

Pilgrims who would like to arrange their own pilgrimage and make all bookings themselves are welcome to order the official guidebook from Communitas by registering online on our website. The guidebook, which is being updated at the moment, contains all the necessary info that you need in order to pre-book accommodation and make your own arrangements.

Please also read the FAQ section on our website for more information. Pilgrims that book their own adventures must remember to order the guidebook, red hat and pilgrim passport from Communitas before they begin walking, and they must inform Communitas about their departure and end dates.

Your pilgrimage doesn't have to be an epic effort in terms of admin and logistics though! If you're new to active travel or simply looking for a more relaxing style of approaching this adventure, the Pilgrim Assist team will make your journey a hassle-free adventure. We do the planning, do all the bookings - including accommodation, permits, meals (where applicable) and luggage transport - and make sure your pilgrimage goes smooth, while you only have to focus on getting ready and fit for your journey. We also provide 24/7 support via WhatsApp during your pilgrimage and you also have the option of booking a guided trip.

For more on the Pilgrimage of Hope, follow Erns Grundling's journey in Elders: Pelgrimstog van Hoop on kykNET on Wednesdays at 20:00. The series is Afrikaans with English subtitles. Previous episodes are also available on DStv's Catch Up.

Please also join the Facebook page for regular updates and news.
