Nancy Kusmaul (BA '99) recently published her first book, Aging and Social Policy in the United States (Cognella, 2021). Intended for undergraduate and graduate students in the social sciences, this book explores issues impacting older adults through local, state, federal, and international policy lenses.
Tim Schum (BA '60) has finished research on a book focused on the role American soccer coaches have played in the growth of the sport in the United States. As yet untitled, the book is scheduled to be published sometime in mid-2022.
Forrest Strauss (BA '95) reports that after five years as an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn, NY and 28+ years as a Principal Attorney at the NYS Grievance Committee for the 9th Judicial District, (where he has investigated and prosecuted attorney misconduct matters), he is finally retiring from the full-time practice of law. He hopes to continue practicing law locally, on a part-time basis, while continuing to serve as Monroe's Village Justice - a bench he helped to create in 2007 and to which he has since been elected four different times. Strauss is also pleased to announce that he was recently elected as President of the Orange County Magistrate's Association for the 2021-2022 year.
