Update from site
Road planing and resurfacing on Cricklade Road
In recent weeks, work at the Moonrakers junction has been centred around preparing the northbound side of Cricklade Road to be resurfaced.
In order to progress this work, the contractor, Alun Griffiths Ltd, completed road surface planing on the northbound side of Cricklade Road and into Whitworth Road.
Following the completion of this work, our contractor has now begun resurfacing northbound Cricklade Road in front of the shops and alongside the Moonrakers pub. This work is due to be completed this week and motorists are expected to be able to use this section of road following completion, which will allow for the next phase of work to begin.
Drainage work at the Penhill Drive junction
Work to install new drainage connections between the Penhill Drive junction and the Moonrakers junction to improve water run-off between the two areas is nearing completion.
Our contractor has finished work on the northbound approach and has now switched over to the southbound approach to continue drainage work and road widening on the opposite side of the road. Drainage work is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
Pedestrian crossing installation
Construction of the new pedestrian crossing outside the shops on Cricklade Road has commenced and work on the tactile paving and surrounding footpath is continuing at the pedestrian crossing on Whitworth Road.
What's coming up?
Work on Beechcroft Road
The left turn lane into Beechcroft Road is currently being prepared for surfacing work, with the aim that traffic may be able to start using this lane shortly. This will allow for a change in temporary traffic management measures at the junction.
