Forum of Global Lithuanian Professionals:

The Forum this year will be opened by Gediminas Urbonas – an acknowledged academic and artist who focuses on the interdisciplinary research practice that advocates reclamation of public space, stimulating cultural and political imagination as tools for social change. Being the first one to speak, he is going to present his winning concept from The Venice Biennale and, most importantly, challenge the way we think and perceive concepts of the surrounding world. The second special attendee of GLL Forum – Gražvydas Lukinavičius. Being the first one to receive The Max Planck Society Nobel Laureate Fellowship, currently, Gražvydas is a member of Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Germany where he continues to develop new probes for nanoscopy. He has published more than 20 scientific publications in such journals as "Nature Methods", "Nature Chemistry", "Nature Chemical Biology", and have 2 patents, commercialized by biotech companies "Qiagen", "New England Biolabs" and "Spirochrome". Having had an opportunity to work in the scientific field in Lithuania and abroad, Gražvydas is going to share his insights and specify the differences of those experiences. LIETUVA³ Discussion “Lithuania Without Suicides: When?”
On October 8, 2017, GLL together with law firm Triniti organised the discussion devoted to mental health in Lithuania. The panelists Jurgita Jurkutė-Širvaitė, Valija Šap and Arūnas Germanavičius looked into the possible reasons of dangerously high suicide rates and discussed how to recognize and help those considering suicide.
