The Grundy County Summer Internship Program closed out its eleventh year with a celebratory Intern Recognition Reception at the Morris County Club on August 9. Interns related highlights from their work experiences, shared their future plans, and received certificates from the Illinois State Senate to honor their achievements while their parents, supervisors, and leaders from their communities and schools applauded.

This year, there were 37 paid internships with 15 different organizations. To date, over 250 students have participated in the program.

Deepest thanks to Grundy County's participating organizations, Grundy's high schools, GAVC, and Senator Rezin for their teamwork, ensuring yet another successful summer for the program. Special thanks to ComEd for its sponsorship of the event and for its support of workforce development in Grundy County.

Project Pilates- An EV industry manufacturer is seeking an existing building. A site in Grundy was submitted to Intersect Illinois.

Project Yum Yum - A renewable natural gas producer is seeking a location for a new facility. A site in Grundy was submitted to Intersect Illinois.

Project Aero - A metals manufacturer is seeking a rail-served site. Multiple sites in Grundy were submitted to Intersect Illinois.

Project Phoenix - A metals manufacturer is seeking a site with significant power capabilities. Multiple sites in Grundy were submitted to Intersect Illinois.

Project Harmony - A company that designs and manufactures electrical grid equipment is seeking a site with heavy power capabilities and rail service. Grundy sites were submitted to Intersect Illinois.

Project Key - A data center prospect is seeking a site with access to significant power resources. A site in Grundy was submitted to Intersect Illinois.

Welcome, New GEDC Investors! Green Township Hospitality, ReMax, and the Upper Illinois River Valley Development Authority (URIVDA)! Green Township Hospitality will construct a Holiday Inn Express in Minooka, and ReMax's David Welter serves our area's residential and commercial real estate needs. URIVDA issues low-cost bonds for capital improvements and assists businesses with Enterprise Zone designation. Thank you for your support of economic development in Grundy!
