I added a bunch of names to the subscribers' list this week, mostly as a result from my swimming to the top of the barrel after Bill's "institutionalization" as he's come to call it. If this is your first "Fridays," welcome aboard! We hope you find something to entertain and inform you - feedback is always welcome. As are photographs! I troll the Book of Faces for much of what I share here but am always delighted by reader photos.

So Take (at least) Five and answer the trivia, solve the online jigsaw, click the photos, and then get outside and play! We'll be here when you get back.

Presque Isle State Park which juts out into Lake Erie is PA's only surf beach. Experience fantastic sunsets over the water, go sightseeing from a boat, take in a concert, or go ice fishing in the winter. Presque Isle is also known for its biological diversity, but some of its inhabitants need conservation. The Piping Plover is a shorebird that once lived here in large numbers, but habitat destruction has made them Near Threatened.

Join Marci, Don Rieck of New Trail Brewing, and Matt Greene from Presque Isle State Park for the launch of New Trail's latest addition to the state parks beer series. Be the first to taste the new brew - and pick up your stickers and other fun swag as well. 

A portion of proceeds from this beer will go directly to dune restoration, where the Piping Plover makes its home. Presque Isle is the most visited State Park in PA, making sand dune restoration all the more necessary.

New Trail's Hazy IPA is brewed with pilsner malt, wheat and honey oats for a crisp yet pillowy and slightly sweet mouthfeel. Hopped with Amarillo, Cashmere and HBC 586 for luxurious stonefruit and citrus forward tropicals.

It's a vistas kind of week. Three of the four are from the Pennsylvania State Parks and Forests Book of Faces (which has, alas, had to go private so if you're a member, you can get the fuller full effect of these shots). And they make it apparent that it's worthwhile to answer a few questions and join the group.

I have to confess I loved last week's question asking who is older, you or the National Natural Landmarks Program? Those senior to the program were just SLIGHTLY more numerous than those younger.
