Couples wanted for Regency Romance
... and the chance of a free renewal of vows after the Jane Austen 250th anniversary parade in Bath
Bath & North East Somerset Council are appealing for romantics who would love a free Regency-style wedding or vow renewal ceremony in Bath’s stunning Parade Gardens during the Jane Austen Festival in September.
The ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 13 on the bandstand in Parade Gardens, after the one-hour long Jane Austen annual parade which begins at 11am at the Royal Crescent.
Couples who dream of saying “I do” or reaffirming their commitment in true period splendour, with all guests dressed in Regency costume, can enter the council's competition by declaring what their love story would be titled if it were a novel.
Be as romantic, witty or whimsical as you like with your novel title. To enter, simply email your title to guildhallweddings@bathnes.gov.uk by July 20.

The Chopard Ice Cube Collection
Six facets, 12 edges, eight vertices. A minimalist figure, the cube represents geometric perfection. Sharp and pure, more rock than romantic, between urbanity and modernity, it mocks genres and ignores accepted codes.
The geometric design emblematic of the Ice Cube luxury jewellery collection marries urban elegance and modernity. With their square facets meticulously crafted like so many reflections off ice, Ice Cube creations embody style, sophistication and glamour.
The Ice Cube collection plays on its rarity, its "fractured" aesthetics and the infinite shimmer of light on its multiple facets. This luxury jewellery collection is completed with versions that are set with diamonds, bringing additional new reflections of light.
Our picks from the collection...
Chopard Ice Cube Yellow Gold Diamond Ring, 18ct Gold | £1,920
Chopard Ice Cube Yellow Gold Bangle, 18ct Gold | £7,540
Chopard Ice Cube Rose Gold Pendant and Chain, 18ct Rose Gold | £6,180

Wardrobe Theory Project (WTP)
WTP is a new US magazine focused on our relationship with clothing and style – why we choose, keep or collect and even rediscover clothes and accessories, as well as why certain brands and labels briefly fixate us or become lifelong obsessions. Our garments have their own history and stories and these can become woven into ours, so the aim here is to inspire a shift in perspective from seeing clothing as mere utility or trend to appreciating it as an integral part of our personal histories and values. It’s similar to Popeye but with more amplified concerns around sustainability and the circular economy. WTP is a lot more expensive too, but it’s only published twice a year and it’s a magazine you’ll keep for life.

The Most Tiresome Place in the World: Jane Austen & Bath at No1 Royal Crescent until 2 November
In celebration of the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth visit No1 Royal Crescent’s exhibition, The Most Tiresome Place in the World: Jane Austen & Bath.
We all know that Jane Austen had a complicated relationship with Bath. And yet she wrote very little while living in the city. Letters, contemporary responses and the only manuscript she wrote in Bath will reveal the highs and lows of her time here, as this exhibition exposes how turbulence and loss cast a long shadow over Jane Austen and Bath.
