Out & Loud & Proud - 19-23 Feb. 2023
The Out & Loud queer choir festival has been celebrating LGBTIQA+ pride through song since 2001. Every three years choirs from all around Australia and our Indo-Pacific neighbours have come together to share the joy of singing through workshops, performances and a massed choral Gala Concert. Now, to celebrate Sydney WorldPride in 2023, we've added Proud to the name & we’re inviting choirs & singers from all over the world to join us.
We’re expecting more than 500 singers from over a dozen choirs to come together and sing out to the world.
By being part of WorldPride in 2023, Out & Loud & Proud will be a unique opportunity to showcase our talents and passion for singing to a truly global audience – and we invite you to join us along the journey.
Anyone can take part, either as part of a choir or as an individual singer. There are also many opportunities to help with the organisation of the festival as a volunteer.
Registrations for singers and volunteers are now open.

Tales from the High Stool - 9pm
Pádraig Ó Cuinn hosts this program on 2RRR with interviews with people involved in local & global music. Guests are invited into a virtual 'pub' to sit on 'The High Stool', & discuss music, musical influences, & whatever they like, with their virtual 'bar-person'.
Pádraig's guest this week is Elsen Price who has been described 'as comfortable in classical, new music and world music, as he is in jazz and improvised music. A confident performer and composer with a broad imagination, he is definitely a bassist to keep an eye on.' (AustralianJazz.Net),
'His level of virtuosity has few peers in this country, but two other aspects of his work are yet more important: his starburst imagination (as both composer and improviser) and his sound. The latter’s warmth and opulence ensures that however complex, busy and labyrinthine the music may become, Price can stop your heart with a single note (executed with perfect intonation).' (Sydney Morning Herald).
Send suggestions for music, suitable guest etc. to Patrick.
