Happy June! A message from Kennett Collaborative's Executive Director, volunteer at Kennett Summerfest, Clover Market tomorrow, behind the scenes of the Kennett Library move, and more
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Happy Pride Month! It’s June, a wonderful month for so many reasons, but also a time when rainbow flags pop up as we celebrate, support, and show solidarity with the LGBTQ community. As a member of that community, I understand how important pride is and how those rainbow flags can make a person like me feel welcome and safe.
Here at Kennett Collaborative, we’re working hard to create programs and events that help Kennett become a more beautiful and welcoming community where all can belong and prosper.
Mark your calendar for Thursday, June 29th, and join Kennett Community Grocer for a happy hour at Victory Brewing Company from 5 to 7pm. Learn more about this important initiative in our community, ask questions, find out how you can help make the dream of a community-owned grocery store here in Kennett a reality—and enjoy a free drink!
The Kennett Underground Railroad Center and Kennett Friends Meeting welcome you to a talk by Dr. Andrew Diemer, author of Vigilance (2022), at Kennett Friends Meeting House on Saturday, June 24th, at 1pm. Come learn about William Still—one of the most important figures in the Underground Railroad.
Head down to 600 S. Broad Street tomorrow, June 4th, between 10am and 4pm to enjoy browsing handmade and vintage goods from 100 carefully curated vendors, in addition to food trucks, live music, beer and wine, and free kids' crafts.
Click here for more information and a full list of vendors. You can also follow Clover Market on Instagram and Facebook for vendor sneak peeks!

You can also sign up here for a walk with Ken Johnston on June 17th at 10am exploring Kennett Square’s First Free Black Community. Also on June 17th, Dr. Cheryl Gooch will present "Think Emancipation! and Juneteenth" at 2 pm at Kennett Friends meetinghouse. Sign up here.

Speaking of colorful rainbows . . . there's nothing that says June quite like sun-ripened local strawberries! Find them for a few more weeks at the KSQ Farmers Market, along with an ever-growing rainbow of fresh summer season produce (and much more) every Friday afternoon from 3pm to 6pm outside the The Creamery. As always, the weekly KSQ Farmers Market newsletter is the best source for details about what you will find at the market each week.
We hope to see you there—and we wish you a great week "Around the Square"!
