New Yarn in store, Mad Noro special and more

Hi

Well the last few months have been very busy for me, getting to understand the rhythm of running a yarn store, launching a new web site, getting to know my suppliers and of course meeting you wonderful customers.

Thank you for the great support so far - in particular the Mt Albert studio has been very busy and I'm so pleased that so many of you are making the time to come in and see what Knitnstitch has to offer.

Now that I'm getting into the swing of it - it's time to bring in a touch of the new to feature alongside the popular favourites. In particular, I'm looking forward to see what NZ knitters will do with the Stolen Stitches Nua and with the brand new Malabrigo Dos Tierras  - it will be splendid I'm sure.

Expect to see more new products and ideas in the coming months as I explore new yarns and inspirational designers. For regular updates, follow the Knitnstitch facebook page and of course I will continue to publish  a newsletter every month or so.

Thanks again

New in Store - Nua - by Carol Feller

Stolen Stitches Nua at Knitnstitch

An exciting new yarn from Irish designer Carol Feller, imported from the UK by Knitnstitch.

With a blend of high quality Yak, Merino and Linen, this sport weight yarn is something quite special - it's not surprising that it's getting such a strong following overseas, and now it's time for NZ knitters to have a look at this fabulous new yarn.

Sugracen Cardigan in Nua by Carol Feller at Knitnstitch

Carol has some wonderful patterns for Nua available on her Stolen Stitches website and also here on Ravelry.

One of my favourites is the Sugarcane Cardigan - so well tailored and with beautiful detailing. As sport weight yarn is perfect for mid-season wear - this is a great project to start now for this coming Spring.

A quote from a happer knitter.. "I finished Sugarcane Cardigan and love it!  I adore Nua and can’t wait to use this yarn again!"

And with some great patterns in store too

I've also brought in a book of Carol Feller's designs specifically for Nua. I'm impressed by Carol's focus on tailoring and the 4 garments in this first volume are quite beautiful.

The book includes patterns for a Ravi Nua Yoked cardigan (women's sizes), Finglas fingerless gloves (small & large sizes), Dangle shawl and Boherboy cowl.

Malabrigo Dos Tierras on its way to Knitnstitch

Barnstable by Lisa Hannes in Malabrigo Dos Tierras at Knitnstitch

A large shipment of new Malbrigo yarn is making its way to the store from Uruguay and, in addition to all the new stock, I'm really looking forward to seeing the brand new Dos Tierras

Dos Tierras (meaning Two Lands), is 50% fine Uruguayan Merino wool and 50% baby alpaca from Peru - which creates a DK weight yarn that is as versatile as it is beautiful.

The Barnstable by Lisa Hannes shown is an example of how the combination of stitch definition and the drape of this yarn together with Malabrigo's amazing kettle-dyed semi-solid and variegated colours, brings out the best of your stitch work.

Dos Tierras should be in store any day - so follow Knitnstitch on Facebook for regular updates.

Noro Special - An amazing 30% Off.

Noro Madness - 30% off at Knitnstitch

Noro yarn on special until end of August !!

Let's just say the store is, well, cosy, so we have to make some space for all of the new yarn that is coming in later this month.

Japanese yarn producer Eisaku Noro is famous for outstanding and extravagant yarns and colour compositions and this quality yarn is now available at a fantastic price.

The self striping makes it versatile particularly  to use with other neutral yarns - for inspiration check out the Noro Striped Scarf by Jared Flood of Brooklyn Tweed fame. So simple and easy but fabulous too.  At this price, now is the time to stock up on this creative yarn.

Use discount code NOROSPECIAL2017 at the checkout (in-store or online) to redeem your 30% discount until the end of August, strictly whilst stocks last.

Coop Socks Yeah! - New Colours In Store

CoopSocks Yeah! New Colours

The Queen of Socks, Rachel Coopey has extended her popular range of Socks Yeah! yarn. Fine superwash merino with nylon makes it a really fabulous sock yarn but it is also perfect for light weight shawls and other accessories as it is soft and squeezable.

I have 15 of the 16 colours in store now with Ruby on back-order.

Coop DK in store and beautiful knit and crochet patterns

If you like Coop Knits, I've also brought in the DK version of their yarn. With a lovely bouncy twist and great stitch definition this is the perfect go to yarn for everything from chunky socks and sweaters to shawls (and would make great knits for kids thanks to the superwash merino).

Alongside that I have range of Rachel Coopey's knit and crochet pattern books in print to browse in store. Great for inspiration for that next project.

Eucalan Delicate Wash

Eulan Delicate Wash at Knitnstitch

Well its one thing to make great woollen garments, it's another to care for them. I've just brought in  this wonderful no-rinse detergent that contains a touch of lanolin to both clean and condition your woollens, whilst keeping static to a minimum.

Great Eco principles, but also practical - it can be used in both front and top-loading washing machines as well as in a basin for hand-washing. If I'm travelling I'm going to take some Eucalan Delicate Wash with me as with no-rinse it will be a breeze to use in away from home environments.
