Tales from the High Stool - 9pm
Pádraig Ó Cuinn hosts this program on 2RRR with interviews with people involved in local & global music. Guests are invited into a virtual 'pub' to sit on 'The High Stool', & discuss music, musical influences, & whatever they like, with their virtual 'bar-person'.
Pádraig's guest this week is the federal member for Watson and shadow minister for the Arts Tony Burke MP. As well as being the Manager of opposition business, Tony is well known for his love of music, he’s a musician and is well known for keeping musical instruments in his parliamentary office. At the beginning of the pandemic, Tony was up front and centre in campaigning for the performing arts sector and for those working in the “gig” economy to not be left behind and excluded from the job keeper allowance! Alas many were!
Paul Fletcher (Federal Minister for Communications, Urban infrastructure, Cities & The Arts) has also been invited on but graciously declined!
Send suggestions for music, suitable guest etc. to Patrick.
