Dear USET/USET SPF Family,     

USET Tribal Epidemiology Center is pleased to offer a weekly USET Area Seasonal Respiratory Illnesses Report. The data is sourced from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Protect, and the Indian Health Service (IHS). This data aims to provide a general overview on the current incidence of COVID-19, influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and vaccination across the United States, within the Indian Health Service Areas, and specifically within the IHS Nashville Area.

MMWR Week 07 (February 11, 2024 – February 17, 2024)       

Data is reported by Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) week. The MMWR week is the week of the epidemiologic year for which the National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System (NNDSS) disease report is assigned by the reporting local or state health department for the purposes of MMWR disease incidence reporting and publishing. The new season begins each year on the Sunday of MMWR week 40. For the 2023 - 2024 respiratory season, October 1 was the start of week 40.
