Dear Friends,

Chris & Lisa Cree at Business Summit

March is upon us and we made it through our first major snow storm here in Scotland. Having lived in the mountains of Colorado for several years, it didn’t seem like such a big deal to Lisa and I. But folks here aren’t used to dealing with significant snowfall. It didn’t help that you get the news hyping it up. They called the storm the Beast from the East. It was just a snow storm.

To be fair, it was the first time I needed to shovel any snow at our house since we moved here.

We did notice one significant difference here, where dealing with snow is concerned. In America areas that are prone to blowing snow often put up temporary snow fences. They are placed 100 yards or more back from the road so that when the wind blows the snow, it hits the fence and then drops the snow right beside the fence instead of on the road.

Entwistles with Chris

Here in Scotland a great many of the roads have hedges and stone walls right next to the roads. These act just like snow fences except they cause the snow to dump right on the roads. That made many of the roads impassable because they were filled with snow. In some cases the drifts were as high as the hedges themselves, over six feet deep in many places!

It was a bit of a mess for several days. There were instances of whole lines of cars and trucks being stuck on the motorways for up to 18 hours or more! The grocery store shelves are still a little bare more than a week later, especially in the produce department, as they work to catch back up.

Launching New Daily Devotional

Let me ask you a question. How would your life change if someone was willing to give you just a little dose of encouragement every morning as you begin your day?

Lisa and I would like to do that for you. Therefore we are excited to announce that we are launching a brand new daily devotional email! We’re calling it Daily Reflections.

But I know you’re busy. So I don’t want to take up a ton of your time. You’ll be able to read our Daily Reflections email in about a minute each morning. Easy peasy.

In that minute you’ll get one uplifting and encouraging idea to think about along with a related verse from the Bible. Just the thing to start your day out right.

Just click the blue button below and tomorrow morning you will automatically start receiving our Daily Reflections. You can unsubscribe anytime.

Send Me Daily Reflections!

Here’s an example of one of our daily emails so you can see what to expect.

When we see what Jesus did we are seeing prophecy of what God has created us for and intends for us to do. Our spirit is identical to Jesus’ spirit, so we are equipped to do what Jesus did when he walked on the earth. We have all the same resources Jesus had inside us already. So we can follow his example and do the same things we saw Jesus doing.

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. — John 14:12 (NKJV)

That’s it. Short and sweet, but still very impactful. Again, if you’d like to have an encouraging email like this delivered straight to your inbox every morning just click the blue button.

Send Me Daily Reflections!

Important Note About Those Blue Buttons

If you happen to forward this email to someone and that person clicks on one of those blue buttons, I'm pretty sure that might confuse the email service into thinking that you clicked the link. If that happens, you will likely get subscribed to our Daily Reflections email, even if you didn't mean to do so.

If that happens to you, please reply to this email letting me know and I will sort it out, no worries.

And if someone forwarded this email to you and you would like to subscribe to our Daily Reflections emails, please Click Here to sign up instead of clicking the blue buttons above.

The same applies if you are reading this newsletter online. In that case the blue buttons above won't subscribe you either. In that case you can also Click Here to sign up to get your Daily Reflections too. There is no cost and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Business Summit

Cecil Paxton at Charis Dumfries

Last month Lisa and I travelled down to England to attend the Business Summit at Charis Walsall. This was a very impactful time for us. We heard from some Charis regulars such as Paul Milligan, Billy Epperhart, and Karen Conrad.

We were excited to meet Mike and Wendy Hughes in person while we were there. As partners with NewCREEations from Canada, they support the work God does through us in Scotland, both through the web and in the Bible college.

It was also our first opportunity to hear Lance Wallnau speak in person. It was a powerful time. God has given Lance a message that the body of Christ desperately needs to hear today. He lays out a blueprint on how to go about discipling entire nations. It’s practical. And I think it’s just the strategy God wants to use to see change in Scotland and around the world.

If you aren’t familiar with him, I encourage you to check him out. You can find his Facebook page here.

Charis Dumfries Update

Charis Bible College worship team

There is so much ministry happening at the Bible college! We are already well into our third and final term at Charis Dumfries. We only have a few meetings left with the students and then we head back to England for Andrew Wommack’s Grace and Faith conference. There the students will walk across the stage as they are promoted to second year.

Next week we receive a mission team from the Charis location in Oklahoma City. They will be ministering locally in town in addition to ministering to our students and to Glen Aros Church.

As soon as that team heads back to the USA, Lisa and I will head up to the Highlands with Rich and Dorothy Van Winkle. There we will connect with several local churches from Banff and Inverness on the east coast all the way across to the Western Isles of Skye and Lewis.

Lisa and I will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary on this trip. We’re excited to mark that special milestone with such a special journey.

Expect to hear more about that in our newsletter next month!

After we return from that trip we will be hosting guest speaker Wendell Parr at Charis Dumfries. Wendell is the one who answered the call to come and start the very first Charis location in the UK more than 20 years ago! We are tremendously blessed to have him with us next month.

We pray blessings on everything you set your hand to.

Blessings,

Chris & Lisa Cree

P.S. As always we especially appreciate those who partner with us financially. If God has placed Scotland on your heart, please prayerfully consider joining with us as we work to disciple the nation.
