Treat yourself like someone you love. ~ Glennon Doyle Melton
For this romance writer, love is in the air 24/7, especially during the month of February! But, regardless if you have a special Valentine in your life—this is my reminder to love the one you’re with (that means you!).
Quick vocabulary lesson: self-care and self-love mean two different things. While self-care involves our health and well-being, self-love is defined as extending kindness to ourselves (yes, there can be overlap).
You’ve likely heard the saying credited to Mahatma Ghandi: Be the change you want to see in the world. Well, self-love is also touted as the foundation and basis for all the love that flows from our hearts to those around us.
So, whether it’s a holiday—or an ordinary Thursday—be intentional: shower yourself with kindness. Coincidentally, Feb. 17 is recognized as National Random Acts of Kindness Day! Don’t forget to check out my Tips & Trivia section.
How easy is it for you
to practice self-love?
