Impact Days 2024 - Social and Impact Business Summit |
|
Impact Days is a European Business Summit of the Social & Green Economy, which is already taking place for the second year in a row in Moldova. The aim of the event is to create bridges of communication and collaboration between people involved in an ecosystem to share and multiply sustainable and impactful business practices. We had 150 attendees on the first day and around 30 on the second day, 38 inspiring speakers and 15 panels of engaging discussions... with #IMPACT. Sustainable development addressed by international journalists in Moldova |
|
During the week of May 21-27, the new edition of SDG Media Camp gathered 22 journalists from Moldova, Ukraine, France, Germany, Poland and Belarus at EcoVillage Moldova - a perfect place to discuss, exchange experiences, learn about how sustainable development issues are presented in the media. Participants enjoyed a complex program with a multitude of workshops, seminars, study visits, debates. Read more here and in "Useful resources" section.

In Volintiri people learn how to manage waste properly |
|
"Our planet has turned into a chemistry and we'd better revive it!". One villager was left with this impression and full of initiative after one of the waste seminars. Adults, young people, schoolchildren, librarians and teachers took part in seminars, workshops, training sessions and even put their knowledge into practice. The villagers want change and a village that is friendly to the locals and the environment, and we are helping them with valuable information and practices, as well as helping to reshape the village infrastructure in this direction. How do we make Chisinau a city for people? |
|
The public lecture with the architect Osamu Okamura made us wonder what makes Chisinau a liveable city and how we can apply the concept of "city for people" in real life. The Czech expert gave a perspective of a people-friendly city for Chisinau residents in 5 workshops organized for civil society. Read more here.

Does organic farming using new technologies exist in Moldova? |
|
As part of the study visit in Olișcani, entitled "Environment-friendly agricultural practices in the context of climate change", Alexei Micu, a promoter of environment-friendly agricultural practices, invited participants to visit fields of wheat, flax, sunflowers, soybeans, etc. More about the study visit here.

Schools from RMD 5, 8 and 1 actively involved in the Big Plastic Count |

The Big Plastic Count activity took place in March-April 2024 and united several schools to raise awareness about the amounts of plastic circulating in every household. Students collected and counted different plastic packaging and objects for a week: from bottles, caps and bags to cleaning items. See the statistics here.

IMPACT Forum - Cahul |
|
IMPACT FORUM takes place annually in different regions of the country to create more collaborations and partnerships between actors in the field of Social Entrepreneurship, to create synergies and exchange ideas, experiences and best practices and this time we came to the south of Moldova, in Cahul. We are glad to bring closer to the entrepreneurs in the communities, the concepts of social business, business with impact and business with social-corporate responsibility or ESG programs. 22 women and girls took their first steps in social entrepreneurship at the summer school |

For 3 days during the summer school at EcoVillage in Rîșcova, 22 participants from both banks of the Dniester River learned about social business, explored methods of communicating and promoting impactful business and learned about the financial sustainability of business plans. Participants enjoyed an open atmosphere, interaction and networking opportunities. Read more here.

Climate Action Day at EcoVisio!
What do we need to slow down the overwhelming rate at which the planet is warming? Climate scientists say there is no shortage of solutions, new studies or technologies - they all already exist. Even if we already have all the tools to stop climate change, they are not being implemented because of a lack of political will. Then we can act to generate that political will! Environment Day at EcoVisio!
Every year on June 5, the whole world celebrates Environment Day - an opportunity to reflect on how we can protect our environment for our long-term enjoyment. In 2024 the focus is on the earth, our soil - the planet's largest habitat that is home to 60% of all species and also feeds us humans. Anya Coutinho is an agroecology expert and board member at EcoVisio. She has a bachelor's degree in biology and a master's degree in environmental management and governance, with a focus on the green economy. Anya conducts policy and governance systems analysis in the field of agriculture and food, and writes reports for different international projects and organizations, while researching agroecological solutions for agriculture and food systems in Moldova. Anya likes opera, pilates and dancing. She is passionate about biodiversity and nature.
