Starr’s Launch Fund to End Pediatric Cancer

Milwaukee, WI – The Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation (VLCF) will hold a press conference on September 20, at Children’s Hospital of Alabama, announcing the launch of the Starr Fund, established by Green Bay Packers’ legend Bart Starr and his wife Cherry. Longtime supporters of VLCF’s mission, Bart and Cherry wanted to deepen their support by creating a fund specifically focused on pediatric cancer research. Why – According to the National Cancer Institute, cancer remains the leading cause of death from disease among children with an estimated 10,270 new cases diagnosed per year among children from birth to 14 years. The Starr’s newly established fund, the Starr Fund, is dedicated to support pediatric cancer research and treatments. Their vision is clear – to see children cancer free so that everyone’s future benefits.

ABOUT VINCE LOMBARDI CANCER FOUNDATION

The Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation was established in 1971, in memory of five-time National Football League championship Green Bay Packers Coach, Vince Lombardi. His spirit, enthusiasm and commitment to excellence touched countless lives, and on September 3, 1970, he lost a battle to colon cancer, dying at only 57.
