Back before the days of ebooks. I often used the library to try out new authors. I found many authors that I then went on to read voraciously this way. To this day, I can't think of Frank Herbert's Dune series without remembering the small library crammed into a single room on the Gold Coast where I grew up, where I discovered the series for the first time.
The closest thing we have to that in the world of ebooks is a free starter book. The Clock Strikes used to be my starter book. Early last year I wrote Fracture Lines to replace it.
I never shut down the old delivery pipeline though, I just left it there. And, as it turned out, I left one thing connected to it. When I started shutting down that old pipeline recently, that's when readers such as you started getting emails that led to an expired offer.
I think I have it switched off now. But I sent you an email offering you a free copy of The Clock Strikes, and I thought I'd better keep my end of the bargain. Let me know if you have trouble downloading it and I hope you enjoy reading it. It was great fun to write.
Talk to you soon.
