CRAZY LOVE
Is this love, or what?!

Join us on Sunday as Pastor Bill speaks about a parable of Jesus that offers guidance during these difficult times. The parable depicts God as displaying "Crazy Love," a willingness to go to great lengths to be in relationship with us, on God's terms though, and not our own. The parable prompts us to repent of our failure to see and act upon the witness of contemporary prophets whose voices speak passionately about helping the poor, eliminating racial injustice, and confronting aspects of our culture that denigrate life. This past week's mass public murder in Las Vegas is a case in point of a nation failing to hear the prophetic words to a nation bent on violence.

FOOTPATHS, FOOTFALLS, & FOOTHOLDS

"As you walk the footpaths of faith, may your footfalls take you nearer and nearer to Christ, the servant of God, and may you make your footholds there." - Pastor Bill

As people today are often threatened by change and the "new", so too, were the Pharisees, chief priests and scribes during the time of Jesus. Jesus' authority and audacity took their breath away. As the Divine One who emptied himself into the form of a servant, Jesus brought a message and lived a life of love that sharply contradicted the status quo. Jesus esteemed and valued everyone they despised. He lived a life of servanthood and obedience to God. Jesus made it clear that God sees the world in a much different way than we often do. LISTEN as Pastor Bill guides us on how to find our footing as we try to make the world a better place.

GOD ALMIGHTY, WE ARE WAITING

One of the beautiful ways we are waiting and preparing for our Savior this Christmas Season is by setting up the 14 Stations of the Nativity, using the 14 windows of the sanctuary. Please contact Stephanie McCurry at 215-822-6312 or 267-261-6790 to select your window or to learn more details about this meaningful project.

Lehman Memorial United Methodist Church Hatboro PA UMC Urges To Take Action For DACA Youth

TAKE ACTION FOR THE DREAM ACT

Thousands of hard working young people have been brought to the United States as infants or children. The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program provided 800,000 of them some measure of protection. But now that DACA has been terminated, Dreamers risk being locked up in federal detention centers and deported to a country they hardly remember.

The passage of Dream Act 2017 would give undocumented youth an opportunity to earn legal status if they attend college, are employed for three years, or enlist in the military, and pass a government background check.

  • Pray, and call, write, or e-mail your members of Congress to ask them to pass a clean Dream Act 2017 immediately. Visit com/IIC-DreamActionAlert to learn how.

As people of faith, we support Dream Act 2017 because we believe in protecting the
dignity of every human being, allowing everyone to reach their God given potential.
