Talent for Lithuania: 275

We are proud to announce the results of the 4th round of the Talent for Lithuania program. The program aims to attract bright Lithuanian graduates of foreign universities to Lithuania for paid professional internships at leading companies operating in Lithuania. More than 275 applications from bright Lithuanian graduates of 80 different foreign universities were received. Moreover, more than 1350 students have joined in creating an interactive map which states what and where they are studying. See the talents!

After Lietuva³ Discussion “Contemporary Media"

 

On May 10, the eighth and the last discussion of the season "Contemporary Media: Balancing Social Responsibility and Popularity" invited to discuss the characteristics and changes of the media in global and local context. Discussion panel: Dr. Nerijus Maliukevičius, professor at TSPMI and researcher in areas of media and information wars; Rolandas Barysas, chief editor of business daily Verslo žinios; Dovydas Pancerovas, reporter at news portal 15min.lt and Vladimiras Laučius, chief editor of news portal LRT.lt. Initiative LT4000000 to Start Login

On May 24-26, Vilnius was boiling with Login conference which moved back to the city and made use of all comfortable city venues. The conference was opened by the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė at the Presidential Palace by the introduction to the wide public of the initiative LT4000000 which spreads the believe that the country is its people rather than the spot on the map and invites every Lithuania-affiliate join virtual Lithuania which has as many as 4 million active creative inhabitants from all over the world. GLL and Jurgis Didžiulis Documentary "To Be LT"

Jurgis Didžiulis just released the analytical documentary "To Be LT" where he found many angles to the Lithuanian identity and raised the self-defining questions to Lithuanian Americans of all waves and generations, ethnicities and beliefs. GLL was happy to take active part in setting up the meetings with global Lithuanians who have many different reasons to challenge the usual definition of national identity. GLL are sincerely happy with the result and encourage you to spend an hour in thoughts about the true values. See it now!

9th Season of LT Big Brother Kicks Off

LT Big Brother program in Lithuania and other regions had opened its 9th season gathering mentors for the kick off event, hosted by Vilnius Municipality. The inspiring audience consisted of newly selected participants from Lithuanian region and professionals who became mentors. Check out the photos.

GLL Took Part In the First Panevėžys Economic Forum

Impressions from this month's Panevėžio Ekonomikos Forumas are still very strong – discussions and presentations about the present, the future and the ambition of Panevėžys were highly powerful and useful. GLL connects global Lithuanian professionals around the world and those who came back to live in Lithuania, bringing their international experience and mindset. This April we had 5th networking event for those who moved to Vilnius. Esther Wojcicki - Education Innovator and Most Inspiring Mother

Esther Wojcicki is an internationally known innovative journalism teacher and the founder of the Palo Alto High School Media Arts Program, a program that focuses on empowering students through the use of media (newspaper, magazine, yearbook, websites, video production, photography, radio, & television). At Login, she shared inspirational insights on how technologies in the classroom shall empower students to develop and deploy their creativity and innovation skills. She is also the mother of Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube, Janet Wojcicki, Professor of Pediatrics at UCSF Medical School and Anne Wojcicki, CEO of 23andMe. She cherishes her Litvak heritage and was pleasantly surprised by welcoming and deeply intelligent crowd of the conference and Vilnius in general.

Agnė Šerpytytė - Making Space a Home to Europeans

She works as a Senior Consultant at SpaceTec Partners which has as partners two largest EU  satellite programs Copernicus and Galileo.  As experienced digital communicator, she has a mission to spread the word about those two programs Europe- and world-wide. She is driven by the belief that satellites can help us solve the biggest challenges humanity is facing these days, she gladly shared her passion with Login audience open to technological and social innovations. 6th Annual Lithuanian Conference on Economic Research

The Lithuanian Economics Network together with the Bank of Lithuania has initiated the Lithuanian Conference on Economic Research to promote economic research in Lithuania and integrate Lithuanian community into the global academic environment. The 6th Annual Lithuanian Conference on Economic Research is organized in collaboration with Kaunas University of Technology and Global Lithuanian Leaders and will take place on June 27-28, 2017 at the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania.
