June 2018 Update from Author Lynnette Bonner

My Life this Month...

I want to thank those of you who took time to pray for my friend Anndra and her family. She passed away May 6th, 2018. Please continue to keep her family in prayer as they learn to travel this life without her.

Below, in the "From My Heart" section, I share a poem that I wrote after Anndra"s passing. I don't always understand God's ways (shocking, I know) but I do stand on the belief that He is never late and never makes mistakes.

I'm working on the first book in a new romantic suspense series this month - see below. And next after that will come book 3 in the Wyldhaven series, Beauty from Ashes

Happy summer, all!

Story World...

Coming this August, book 1 in a new Romantic Suspense Series

She’s a first-year teacher in a school where kids are dying from a new drug.

He’s an undercover cop who’s been sent in to find the dealer.

I'm excited to go back to the San Juan Islands for the setting of this new series. (My previous romantic suspense was also set on San Juan Island. If you haven't read that one you can find it here.) This story has all new characters and has the potential to be a series, though I'm not 100 percent certain when I'll get those on my schedule.

This book will first release in a boxed set of all brand new romantic suspense stories sometime in early August. That set will be called Exposed. So be looking for it. All the other authors are super talented and I'm blessed to be part of this set.

Anyhow, you all get to be the first ones to see the cover for Fire, book 1 in the San Juan Shadows series. You can see it larger by clicking on the cover on this page: http://www.lynnettebonner.com/books/contemporary-romance/san-juan-shadows/ Tell me what you think!

Summer Salad Recipe...

One of my favorite things about summer is delicious avocados. Maybe my love of avocados has something to do with the fact that when I was a kid in Africa we had avocado trees in our yard. We would pluck small football sized (truly!) fully ripe avocados from the tree and consume them by the pound.

Anyhow, I love them. And this is one of my favorite recipes.

These numbers are for one person. Multiply depending on the number of people you need the salad to serve.

1 Small vine-ripened tomatoe, cut into segments. (You can also use several grape or cherry tomatoes cut in half.)

1/8 of a red onion sliced and separated into half circles.

1/2 an avocado cubed

1 TBS fresh cilantro chopped

1 cup fresh baby spinach

1/4 of a lime and salt and pepper to taste.

Chop and mix all ingredients. Squeeze about 1/4 (to taste) lime over top. Sprinkle with salt and pepper (to taste) and toss gently. Serve chilled.
