Time to register for the AAMT Biennial Conference

The next AAMT Biennial Conference is fast approaching – join us in Canberra, 11–13 July 2017. If you haven't already done so, it is time to register and make your plans to attend the nation's premier gathering of teachers and others. It is your chance to catch up on national and international developments. To quote AAMT President Allason McNamara, "You will find new ideas, new resources, and opportunities to participate in debates and discussions about issues that matter in your professional life."

There is still time if you would like to share your experiences and ideas with colleagues as a seminar or workshop. But you'll need to hurry – proposals for sessions are due 31 March.

Student feedback – special offer from Pivot

reSolve website now 'live'

The reSolve: Mathematics by Inquiry website is now publicly available. It contains the classroom resources developed during 2016 for Years 5 to 8. The resources are downloadable as PDFs. So please visit

resolve.edu.au

and have a browse. More than that, the project team would love you to use them with your students and provide your feedback. This is a great way to get to know about the project...and to be among the many people contributing to the testing and refinement of the lessons.

Other materials – Classroom resources for Foundation to Year 4 and Years 9 to 10, Professional Learning Resources and Special Topics – are under development and will be being trialled during 2017. Subscribe to the reSolve newsletter to keep up to date.

reSolve to be a Champion

There is still time to express your interest in becoming a Champion for the reSolve: Mathematics by Inquiry project. Champions will undertake a free professional learning program (online and face-to-face) to become familiar with the philosophy, resources and approaches of the reSolve project. Becoming a Champion will appeal to those looking for stimulating personal professional learning, with a view to  helping strengthen the teaching and learning of mathematics in your school and beyond.

The Champions program is open to all teachers of mathematics (F–10), as well as other educators. For more information and to complete an expression of interest (due 10 April), go to aamt.edu.au/resolve.
