Welcome, Jackie!

Quest is pleased to introduce our new Group Director of Programmes, Jackie Dannatt. Please see her bio below:

Jackie Dannatt SFHEA, MA (TESOL), BA (Hons): "I have been teaching and training in higher education over the last twenty years and am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. My previous roles have included syllabus development and design, teacher-training, and generally the enhancement of the teaching learning environment and the student experience. My work has taken me to Europe, Brazil and South Africa, where I have delivered workshops to students, academics and education managers on the development of academic and communication skills. I have been fortunate to have presented my work at home and abroad, and have published in the field. My most recent role was to set up and lead a university Writing Centre, for which I guided and mentored tutors in the delivery of skills development.

I am absolutely thrilled to be part of the dynamic and positive team spirit that I have discovered in Quest! I look forward very much to leading the development of the programmes, and to ensuring that their delivery and design achieves the optimum learning outcomes for each individual student."

A big thank you to Hackett for giving the January BA boys two fun and informative mornings this week in their beautiful Sloane Street store. The in-house tailor showed them how a suit should fit perfectly and the different types of tie knots. The tailor also explained the best way to care for their clothes and how to get the most out of them. The students spent time with the General Manger who talked them through the history of the Hackett brand. The boys then had the chance to try on suits and some very stylish dinner jackets!

02 - Sky Studios

Our PD PLUS students visited the O2 Sky studios this month. On arrival they had a photo shoot with all of the movie animations that are featured on Sky Cinema. They then filmed a video with Sky Sports, trying their hand as a News Presenter. What a great insight into the Media industry. Maybe we will see them on the big screen one day!

Recruitment Fair

Our Quest students met our London recruitment agencies this month in order to assist with their job search.  We ran a recruitment fair where we invited Anderson Hoare, Norma Skemp, Morgan Spencer, BIS Recruitment, Mansion House, Pulse Search & Selection, Lisa Levan, Deverell Smith, Crone Corkill, Tiger Recruitment, Buchanan Search and Anderson Hoare.  This was a successful event and a crucial element of the student exit strategy.

Guest Talks

HSBC- Came to speak to our Professional Diploma students about embarking on their career and how to manage finances effectively with this. From understanding the importance of a payslip to the importance of budgeting and savings, the talk was very useful indeed.

Corporate Traveller- One of the leading travel management service providers came in to speak to our students. The talk provided an insight into what the company does and covered employment opportunities with the company as well.

Selfridges- Two representatives came in to speak to our students about how the department store (voted best in the world!) runs. One of the speakers is a member of the Quest Alumni which provided inspiration for our students!

Latest Job Successes!

It is always fantastic to hear that our students have secured new positions or promotions in the work place. Congratulations to Phoebe Lewis, Charlotte Durbin, Amanda Shuttleworth, Nadia Shakor, Georgie Morrison- Corely and Grace Bourne who have all successfully secured new roles this month.

Please remember if you would like any help or advice regarding moving roles, then please get in touch with our Student and Alumni Consultant Emma Colville
