Rumors of War by Amy Duboff

Hey ,

This week’s book is Rumors of War by Amy Duboff.

At its heart, Rumors of War is a character-driven space opera epic that spans generations. However, it begins as simple family drama, when the scion of a rich royal family runs away from home and becomes a navigator aboard a simple cargo ship.

Like many restless children from wealthy families with unloving parents, Cris wants to see the galaxy. Who can blame him? He needs to know what else is out there for him. Will he really be trapped by his family’s legacy, a legacy toward which he feels so much resentment?

From there, exigent circumstances lead Cris to join the Tararian Selective Service—an organization that promises to hone his powerful telekinetic abilities, abilities which his parents have always tried to suppress in him.

It’s no secret that I love the blending of genres. When I saw telekinetic abilities in the first few pages, I got really excited and fell straight into the story. But it’s how Amy Duboff weaves these incredible abilities so seamlessly into the sci-fi universe, into the plot, and into the character development that’s really exciting. A powerful beginning to a promising series!

The first book is only $0.99 for a limited time. And in case that didn’t convince you, this 5-book series is already complete.

Read it, enjoy it, let us know what you thought in the Facebook group.

See you next week with another SFF book.
