A Treat For Dad

Sunday 16th June is Fathers Day and what better way to treat Dad than organise a trip to Keswick where you will find plenty of things for him to enjoy.

A visit to Keswick Brewing Company might be in order (not open Sundays) or how about a trip to Threlked Quarry and Mining Museum?  If the sun is shining you could always treat him to a game of Pitch and Put or Crazy Golf at Hope Park or maybe just a stroll through the town or by the lake.  For more ideas of what to do take a look at our website.

Activities & Attractions

Mid-Summer Festival

The Keswick Mid-Summer Festival is a 3-day event that is organised by Keswick Town Council.  On Friday 28th June there is a Rock Concert in the Market Square followed by Proms in the Park (Fitz Park) on Saturday 29th June.  Both of these music events are free to attend

On Sunday 30th June, also in Fitz Park, the ever popular Scruffs Dog Show returns.  There is a £3 class entry fee but entry to the show field is free.  We will be judging the Most Appealing Eyebrows category and we are looking forward to a fun day.

King Pocky’s Derwent Water Regatta

The best thing about King Pocky’s Derwent Water Regatta is that it’s all about joining in and having fun, getting out on the water and having a go at something you never thought you’d try.

On Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 July 2019 you and your family can have a go at low-cost watersport and activity sessions plus lots of free activities on dry land, so bring your beach shoes and a spare pair of socks and join in what we like to call Cumbria's quirkiest regatta.

Activities run 10am-7pm on Saturday, and 10am-4pm on Sunday

Valley Of The Month - St John's In The Vale

St John's in the Vale is a very scenic and peaceful valley.  It lies under the craggy slopes of the Helvellyn Range with splendid views towards Blencathra and has a small church dating from 1845. It is very accessible as a base for touring the Lake District and is situated only three miles east of Keswick.

Walk of the Month - Helvellyn from Thirlmere

This is Helvellyn the easy way, that is if a couple of hours of solid ascent on engineered paths can be described as easy! It does, however, avoid the scrambling experience of Striding Edge and Swirrel Edge which you encounter when ascending from the eastern side. Linear or circular, take your pick.
