A group of researchers from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has carried out several pilot projects through the transfer of technology, using the brand name 'Diu Son,' to improve the yield and income of paddy planters. PadiU Putra is a research finding programme generated from the laboratory and ground field and it entails the involvement of paddy farmers who will gain direct benefits from the research. Read More

Innovative “dekoponix rack’, ‘home deco’ bring agriculture live to home

Agriculture does not necessarily take shape in farms but it can also be done at home.”

Sticking to this concept as a solution to resolving the problem of flat or apartment dwellers not being able to do gardening, a team of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) researchers invented a ‘dekoponix rack’ and a ‘home deco’ that will enable high-rise building residents to plant vegetables and other greens at home. Rectal Surgery Makes Easy Through SRAS

Surgeons will find it easy to examine human rectum and conduct operation by using a tool, named Self Retaining Anal Speculum (SRAS), an innovative product developed by researchers from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). When this bio-composite tool is inserted from the anal lining to the rectum of a patient, SRAS will open up the anus, making it easier for surgeons to carry out examination or surgery. Read more
