UPM creates new engine oil for lasting performance

A group of Universiti Putra Malysia (UPM) researchers succeeded in creating a Green Synthetic Engine Oil - an engine oil formulated with the use of Trimethylolpropane ester (TMP ester) as the base oil or blends. The use of TMP ester as the base oil or blends in biosynthetic engine oil not only improved biodegradability and lubricity of engine oil but also enhanced its level of performance, cleaning power and engine protection. UPM’s Putra Blok innovation builds faster, cheaper houses

A group of researchers from UPM has successfully developed an innovation called Putra Blok which sees the construction of houses or buildings without the use of columns or beam structures.

In fact, it can be built straightaway using UPM’s very own Industrialized Building System (IBS).

Through Putra Blok innovation which features an Interlocking Load Bearing Block Building System, building a house is made easier, faster and more cost-effective. READ MORE

UPM Tops Young Universities in Malaysia

UPM is ranked 17th in the world by QS Top 50 under 50 this year.The leap by 21 places compared to 38th spot last year has once again put UPM at the top among young universities in Malaysia. The ranking released by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) listed  world’s 50 top universities below 50 years old. READ MORE

UPM Students’ Car Represents Malaysia at STUDENT FORMULA JAPAN 2016

Six undergraduates of UPM have been picked to represent Malaysia at Student Formula Japan 2016 car racing competition where they have to compete with 93 other teams from all over the world from Sept 3 to 12, 2016 at Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. READ MORE

UPM Holdings gives RM50,000 to Malaysian Students Education Fund

UPM handed over RM50,000 to Malaysian Students Education Fund to assist Malaysian students in Egypt facing financial difficulties. The contribution from UPM Holdings Sdn Bhd was presented by UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Aini Ideris to Higher Education Minister, Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh who launched the fund here, today. MITI Deputy Minister Visits IPPH, UPM

The Laboratory of Halal Services, Halal Products Research Institute (IPPH) of UPM received a courtesy call from Deputy Minister of International Trade And Industry (MITI), Datuk Ahmad Maslan who visited the research facility. Help realize Garden of Knowledge and Thought based on ‘ihsan’

UPM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Aini Ideris has called on UPM staff and students to work together to help create an image for UPM as the Garden of Knowledge and Thought, based on the notion of ‘ihsan’ for excellence of the university.

She said it was her dream to turn UPM into a ‘Garden of Knowledge and Thought’ that builds goodwill, not just an institution that produces graduates for the workforce alone but those with superior personal qualities who are able to compete globally.

"The emphasis on the concept of ‘ihsan’ as the pillar of excellence for UPM will become an on-going effort to ensure that UPM staff and students really understand the philosophy of ‘ihsan’ and appreciate their life and daily routines," she said in an event held in conjunction with her 100th Day in Office. Her address is themed ‘Ihsan Tonggak Kecemerlangan’.  (Good Deeds are Pillar of Excellence). READ MORE
