Carlisle Lake Distirct Airport Is Open For Business

Carlisle Lake District Airport launched commercial services from Carlisle for the first time in more than 25 years with Loganair on Thursday 4 July.

Travellers can now look forward to flights connecting Carlisle and the Lake District with the South East of England (London Southend Airport), Northern Ireland (Belfast City Airport) and the Republic of Ireland (Dublin Airport).

With car hire on site and a free shuttle service to Carlisle train station, getting to Keswick just got so much easier.

Friends of Keswick

The Friends of Keswick loyalty card scheme launched on the 13th July and is running throughout the summer holidays.

Get your loyalty card stamped at a range of  (participating) businesses around the town following a purchase. Once you have collected 10 different stamps, you can claim a free Friends of Keswick badge and be entered in a free prize draw.  Collect your loyalty card from Keswick TIC (Moot Hall) or any participating business.

A Walk In The Park - Charity Walk & Fun Day

A family fun day in Fitz Park - Walk, hop, run or skip as many laps of the park as can. It's all in aid of The Lions Club International Foundation that supports a whole host of different local, national and international causes.

Family 5in5 Fell Walking Challenge

The Family 5in5 Challenge is taking place on Saturday 28th September 2019.  It is for kids, teenagers, grandparents, everybody aged 8 to 88.

The route is approx. eight miles long and takes in five peaks – Causey Pike, Scar Crags, Outerside, Stile End and Barrow.

Lake Of The Month - Derwentwater

When you walk down to the lakeside it is not difficult to see why Derwentwater is one Keswick's main assets.

Derwentwater is about 15 minutes leisurely stroll via Lake Road and the beautiful gardens of Hope Park from the Market Square in Keswick town centre. The lake is three miles long and is fed by the River Derwent catchment area in the high fells at the head of Borrowdale.

Walk of the Month - Derwentwater Walk

A scenic 10 mile waymarked walk around Derwentwater, Queen of the Lakes.

On flat and easy paths, the walk passes through ancient woodlands and along the shores of the lake. The scenery is stunning, with perfect picnic stops and cafes and restaurants en-route. If you find that it's just a bit too far for you then jump on the bus or the launch. It's a beautiful walk and one that the whole family can enjoy.
