Things Are Hotting Up In Keswick

We really have been treated to some fantastic weather over the last couple of months and it looks set to continue as we head into July.  It has been wonderful to see both visitors and residents out enjoying themselves; there has been paddling, picnics, kayaking, strolling and sunbathing as well as some relaxing with a cooling drink and tasty food. If that sounds tempting, you can book your accommodation and find out about all the different things you can do at

King Pocky's Derwent Water Regatta

Hot on the heels of the Keswick Mountain Festival, the National Trust bring you King Pocky's Derwent Water Regatta.

On Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 July 2018, you can take part in low-cost watersport and activity sessions as part of the regatta.  It’s all about joining in and having fun, getting out on the water and having a go at something you never thought you’d try.  So bring your beach shoes and a spare pair of socks and join in Cumbria's quirkiest regatta.

Keswick Kids Recommend

Keswick Lions asked local primary school children to create a leaflet showing their 5 favourite things to in and around Keswick.  They were asked to include:

  • Somewhere free
  • Somewhere unique
  • Somewhere to go for a treat
  • Somewhere for all the family
  • Somewhere to visit in any weather

What they came up with was truly fantastic and we were delighted to be able to work with Keswick Lions to help showcase the results. You can see the winners from each of the 5 primary schools plus a few of our favourite excerpts from other entries on

“The Experience of a Lifetime” - be part of it!

Keswick Rotary’s Big Fund-Raising Event

An idyllic location…fine dining with leading chefs…live entertainment … great company… overnight on the fells…early morning activity… big Cumbrian breakfast AND IT’S ALL FOR CHARITY.

There are just 36 places remaining at this amazing charity event.  On each of 7 days in September, a small group of 14 will have a unique experience of:

  • Arriving at an idyllic campsite nestled between Latrigg and Skiddaw after an optional walk - and enjoying the views with a welcome drink in hand
  • Meeting visitors, celebrities and live entertainment – a different programme each day
  • Savouring a fantastic gourmet dining experience with wine, prepared and presented by a top chef, then retiring for an overnight stay in your “Shelterbox” tent
  • Rise and shine for an early morning activity, followed by a full Cumbrian breakfast, then head home after the “Experience of a Lifetime”
  • Take a look at for the full programme

Event Organiser Christine Sheldon said “We’ve had an extraordinary response from businesses and individuals keen to support the charities but also wanting to be part of such a unique and fun Cumbrian event. The programme is in place and the chefs are raring to go – we just need to fill the remaining places”.

There will never be another event like this one
