And don't miss 'The Ward's Bride' FREE this Friday & Saturday

Happy Thursday Insiders,

Monday the kids had another snow day which makes working from home interesting. Despite the craziness in the Mecca homestead, I was able to finish proofreading 'The Protector's Promise' which will eventually become Border Series Book 7.5. For now, the story is a part of the Ladies of the Stone anthology comingApril 24th and on pre-order now for .99. In other book news, The Ward's Bride will be FREE this Friday and Saturday in case you haven't picked up the series prequel novella yet. Then, after the anthology, 'The Warrior's Queen: Border Series Book Six' releases in May.

I've also been hard at work on a few extras for my Insiders. Check out the brand new Author Insights which will continue to be populated on the bonus page. I started with an insight from 'The Earl's Entanglement' but plan to have multiple insights for each book, so if you have a scene from any Border Series book you'd like additional information about, feel free to email me your scene/book suggestions.

While you're there, you may notice my website had a facelift this weekend. It's been long overdue, and I'm very pleased with the results. Also brand new is a fun addition to the CM Insider. Tales from the Inn will give you a bit of insight about the latest happenings along the border from the perspective of a brand new Border Series character. You can read about Katherine and see her latest journal entry below.

As always, follow me on Instagram for book progress and news, and if you have an idea for the insights, email me at I'd love to hear from you!

Tales from the Inn

As the days become longer and warmer, Magge says tensions will begin to rise. For now, however, all remains calm despite some talk of increased trouble with some powerful border lord. Despite such talk, I continue to thank every saint I can remember for bringing me here where I am safe and loved.

Last eve was more exciting than most when a lord arrived with his retinue including a lady and her maid. Magge knew the man well, and when she asked the cellar table to be prepared, the girls did not cease their giggling all evening. Apparently, the man and woman are unmarried and dined in the cellar alone. Ava nearly swooned when she came back from serving them, though I can't  say if her description of the lord was accurate since I did not have an opportunity to see him.

Otherwise, all was quiet despite the inn being full. Magge says to expect as much all summer, so it seems I will be assisting in the hall more often now, though I would not dream of complaining. I'm safe, and that is all that matters.

Farewell for now. ~Katherine

Royal. Rebellious. Delicious. Playboy Prince Robert is the total package. And his package? Let’s just say he’s royally endowed in more ways than one…

He's the laird of a Lowland clan; she's the daughter of a powerful Highland chieftain. It'll never work. Get Kilty Pleasures for just .99 on Amazon.
