Festival Fun And Flowers In Keswick, The Lake District

May is such a beautiful month especially as the bluebells are in full bloom.  Take a walk through the woods or visit Rannerdale valley and you will be rewarded with the most stunning carpet of bluebells.  It really is a sight to behold.

If you do decide to visit the bluebells in Rannerdale (pictured above) please take care to stay on the designated footpaths.  Have a quick read of this to find out why it is so important.

It's Festival Time In Keswick

We have a whole host of festivals taking place in Keswick, throughout the year but over the next month or so we have three almost back to back; Keswick Jazz & Blues Festival, Keswick Mountain Festival & Keswick Beer Festival.  It's a great time to visit as there is a real buzz in the town and lots going on.

Keswick Jazz & Blues Festival 9th - 12th May

The 2019 Keswick Jazz & Blues Festival is almost here.  Four days of the very best in New Orleans, Swing and Classic Jazz and Blues with guest stars and bands from the US, Canada, Europe and the UK.

There are still tickets available for this fantastic event that has the whole town alive with the sound of Jazz & Blues.

Keswick Mountain Festival 16th - 19th May

Back to its original dates in May, the Keswick Mountain Festival has it all - sport, activities, talks, exhibitors, food & drink and music.  We are excited to be there again this year and welcome people from far and wide.

Keswick Beer Festival 7th - 8th June

A firm favourite in the Keswick Festivals calendar and now in its 23rd year, Keswick Beer Festival is not to be missed. Known as "The Party on the Pitch" (because it takes place on the Keswick Rugby Club pitch) it draws people from all over the country and raises thousands of pounds for Keswick Rugby Club and the Keswick Lions.

Saturday and weekend tickets have sold out but there are still tickets available for the Friday night and there's always next year.

May Half Term Is Just Around The Corner

I know it feels like the Easter holidays have only just ended (and for some that is the case) but May half term will be here before you know it.  Keep an eye on our website for the special Half Term activities page that we will be putting together over the next few weeks.

Keswick Railway Path Update

We receive enquiries almost daily about the Keswick to Threlkeld railway path and whether it has re-opened following the damage caused by Storm Desmond.  The good news is preparatory work is underway and it is hoped that the multi-user trail will re-open in Autumn 2020.

Village Of The Month - Threlkeld

The village of Threlkeld is situated at the foot of the mighty Blencathra looking towards St John's in the Vale and Clough Head at the Northern end of the Helvellyn range  It is located 4 miles to the east of Keswick and is an ideal base  for exploring the Lake District and the Eden Valley.

Walk of the Month - Threlkeld Circular Walk

This circular walk from the village of Threlkeld near Keswick is just under 4 miles in length.  It takes you over the fields to Wescoe with fine views of Blencathra, Clough Head and Latrigg. It then heads downhill before climbing up to the Blencathra Centre and back to the village via Blease Gill.
