Half Day Leave - Update 1 (Replies)

Dear HR Professionals,

Just wondering what is your company practice on employees who apply half day.

For morning half day, do they report back before lunch hour?

For afternoon half day, do they leave after lunch hour?

We are quite flexible but would wish to know what is the market practice.

Thank you.

Staff can take half day on 8 occasion annually, morning half to report after lunch and
afternoon half can leave during lunch hour.

Our official working hours are from 0830-1700 hours.
Our morning half day is 0830-1230 hours.
Our afternoon half day is 1300-1700 hours.

I believed this is the most common  one.

If you work from 9am to 6pm with 1 hour lunch break, then you have to work 9am to 1pm or 2pm to 6pm with no lunch break on your half day leave.

Our company practice is, when applying half day leave normally it's either 9-1pm (AM LEAVE) or 2-6pm (PM LEAVE).

So if they want to take AM LEAVE, they should only leave office by 1 pm whilst PM LEAVE they need to report at 2 pm till 6 pm.

Our working hours are from 9am - 6pm. So if the staff took afternoon half day, they will leave the office around 1pm while those who took morning half day would come into the office by 2pm.

We work 0900 hrs to 1700 hrs. For half day (AM) will leave at 1300 hrs and half day (PM), staff will come at 1300 hrs. No lunch time for both.
