2016 A RECORD BREAKING YEAR FOR INVEST LITHUANIA AS PRODUCTION INVESTMENTS BOOM

2016 was another record breaking year for the foreign investment promotion agency Invest Lithuania as it attracted 36 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects to Lithuania. These projects are set to create 3,716 jobs over the next three years. By comparison, 28 foreign capital companies decided to set up operations in Lithuania in 2015, creating 2,370 jobs.

Lithuania ahead of Baltic neighbors on Bloomberg index of most innovative economies

Lithuania is ahead of the other two Baltic states on the 2017 Bloomberg Innovation Index of the world’s most innovative economies. Just like last year, Lithuania ranks 32nd among 50 countries, while Estonia went up by one slot to 33rd , while Latvia ranks 39th after climbing one position since 2016.

Lithuania rises in global talent competitiveness index

Lithuania has moved up two positions in the Global Talent Competitiveness Index and now ranks 33rd out of the 118 countries surveyed. The index ranks countries according to their ability to grow, attract and retain talent. The jump in Lithuania’s position in the ranking this year was mostly due to stronger results in the talent attraction and talent growth indicators.
